Well, the Pads brought it with a 2 run homer off Cliff Lee in the 1st, but it was still doable. They even managed another in the 4th, to make it 3-1, but still, with Lee on the mound, there was a chance. Then Sean White and Brandon League let it disappear in the 8th and it was over.
However, as much as the bullpen gave up, the offense also squandered too many chances to score. 1 run on 10 hits? Seriously? That's like spending 40 dollars on scratch tickets and getting 2 back. Ichiro did his job, got on base 3 times and even drove in a run, but nobody picked him up. Yargh, we need an RBI machine!
