And we have our first sweep since Baltimore! Sure, it was only a two gamer, but a sweep nonetheless of the Detroit Tigers, no less. Vargas took the M's 7 innings while only giving up 2, the other Tiger's runs coming with Rowland-Smith on the mound for an unremarkable relief session. Brandon League stole the win and Aardsma picked up his second consecutive save.
Meanwhile, The M's support came late, but in the nick of time. Down 4-1, Sweeney tagged one out that scored him and Gutierrez, and then Josh Wilson singled in the the tying and go-ahead runs, all in the bottom of the 8th. Nail biter, but worth it!
PLAYER OF THE GAME:
Well, Vargas only went 5, but was solid. Though, old man Sweeney once again has the most homers on the team.
